New updates from the South

Dad has been on my back about updating my post.
I don't work at the AF Jr High I think every knows now that I work at Kids on the Move. I'm an Early Head Start Child Care Teacher serving low income families and I totally love it. My Spanish is better than it has ever been--at least I know more vocabulary. I love the people I work with and Chad gets to come with me until February so that is all very fun.

Some of you know already that Jerome was sick with some kind of Flu over the holidays well then he got cellulitis, a type of staph infection, (I think I spelled that right). I actually think it was on Saturday night when I got home he was commenting on how his wrist was feeling sore. He still had a fever and chills and just not feeling good. Sunday his wrist was feeling worse, Monday his wrist was swelling up and it started swelling into his fingers and down his arm a little. Tuesday his arm was swollen to his elbow and we decided to go to the doctor. Well he got a big shot and big horse pills to take and set up an appointment to go in again on Wednesday around 2:30. The doctor also drew on Jerome and marked where the redness and swelling was so we could see the progress or lack thereof. Wednesday morning I was almost ready to go to work but decided to take a look at Jerome's arm and it was swollen half way up his upper arm and over his entire elbow and no kidding his left leg was swollen all around his ankle and up his calf. So we rescheduled the appointment got in to see the doctor at 11:00 and were admitted to the hostpital by 12:00. Jerome is resting tonight and will have to stay tomorrow night also. The type of infection he has is resistent to the antibiotics they gave him yesterday and today so they are going to try something new tonight and tomorrow and hopefully it will work a little better because it had grown another inch in his arm and even more in his leg while we were at the hospital. Totally bizarre and random and a crazy way to the end the year. Thanks for praying for us and I will post again when this is all over.

Just thought I would let you all know what is going on on the South side.

Thanks to Grandmama and Grand PAPA for a wonderful family home evening and an amazing Easter dinner. Also we all loved getting our own iron rod with conference quotes. It was a fun day playing with cousins and being with each other. I would have taken pictures but I ran out of steam.

Chores/Home Blessings

I'm trying some new ideas to get the kids helping around the house more. Maybe this will help you guys or maybe you have tried something similar and can give me tips and tricks on how to make it work.

I am doing a home blessing jar with a bunch of blessing (aka chores) to do around the house with a time limit.
You are only allowed to do it for 10 minutes if you get it done faster great if you don't get it done then stop where you are it's okay.
This way I don't get burned out. I might have to shorten it to 5 minutes since my kids attention spans aren't that long. :) and if you like the idea then you can change the time limit to something your kids can handle then set the timer and go.

While my family was discussing this we thought of chores like cleaning out the cars and Jerome says, "With supervision of course."

Hailey exclaims, "We don't have SUPER VISION! hahahahahaha"
She thought Jerome had said the funniest joke.
Then we all started laughing! :)

She is so fun! and funny!

Adam's 3rd birthday

We celebrated Adam's 3rd birthday. Here's his Mickey Mouse and Goofy cake. (If you can't tell, they are driving their cars down a road through the grass.)

Here's one of his presents from Mom and Dad. A powered four-wheeler. Adam thought it was awesome until Cassee raced on her bike and zoomed by for the win.

Thanks Grandmama and Grandpapa for the Buzz Light-Year dude. And the movie and pjs and underwear!! He loves them all. And yes, Adam is all the way potty-trained. Yahoo!!!

Here, he's making Buzz go zoom. hehe
We love and miss you all.

Grandmama's scrambled eggs

Today is national pancake day.
I also made scrambled eggs. I offered some to Lyndsi and Hailey.
Hailey in a whisper "I love scrambled eggs"
Lyndsi loudly "I am the only one in the family who doesn't like scrambled eggs.......I like Grandmama's scrambled eggs. Mom you don't cook them the same way."
Me "Yes, I do. I cook them exactly the same way."
Lyndsi "No you don't."
Me "Okay you are right Grandmama makes them better"
Lyndsi "Yeah...... I think she adds a special ingredient or something."

Maybe Grandmama does add an extra special ingredient.
(is Grandma "love" more potent then Mom "love"? Maybe, when it comes to my cooking.)

Be prepared to make scrambled eggs next time we come over Grandmama. I need a cooking lesson. :)

Southern Accents

So at my house we use a southern accent every once in a while.
I become Barbara the beauty parlor lady when I am trying to get their hair done and they love it
and today
While we were eating dinner Hailey looked over at Chad who was doing something clever
and she said with a southern accent "Well (weo), Now, that's a good idea"
It is so hard to write how funny it was with her little accent.
We all started to laugh.
We were also playing cowboy with the bananas shooting each other.
and our carrots were bleeding (ketchup).
What a fun dinner time.

A little from Judy and Norman

The ping pong ball game looks like "Minute to Win It" on TV! I think the Jones family should enter!

We're attaching recent pix of us at skiing at Mammoth, Gina snowboarding at Tahoe, us with the FedEx cup (at the Farmer's Tourney at Torrey Pines) and Annie with Mateo on his first carousel ride in Long Beach a week ago!

Loving you all--toothless or not, pregnant (yea Leesa & Nate!) or not--this Valentine's Day.

Love,
Aunt Judy & Uncle Norman

Family Night February 2011

Singing with Grandpapa

Singing with Grandmama

Our 1st Family Home Evening 2011
It was a great success!
Hailey lead us in a march around the house to the family night song. We had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation by Sarah and Songs by Graysen "sunbeam" song (more giggles than singing), "foolish man and wise man" song and "I will follow God's plan"
FAMILY BIZ...
We learned so much!! Lyndsi lost her first tooth and Jack has a mouthful of missing teeth. LPJ is going to St george to golf and soon after grandmama and grandpapa will go to sunny San Diego.

Nate and Leesa are PREGNANT!! Yahoo! and Evan and Sarah are............ not. Matt turns 4o this week and Sydney's volleyball team went undefeated. Markus and Sydney are going on trek representing our ancestors. Julia was sick boo hoo we missed the Cosper family. Evan and Sarah will celebrate their 10 year anniversary in April. Laura is performing "Women at the Well" April 16th with a group she is organizing. Jerome is finding work to do even though he has been out of work for 4 weeks. Dorothy had the giggles and Leesa the wiggles.
Game

Trying to keep the ball on the table.
Oranges for the healthy and Cheese cake for the birthday boy.

All and all we learned a lot and laughed together. But.... we missed the Dan and Leesa fam. for sure!!! so please send us your "Family BIZ" Love ya!

Hey you guys

I really don't have any idea what is going on with any of you siblings. but I'm going to just keep on blogging for your enjoyment... if you get any from it.
If you ever read my facebook I posted this story there.
I was taking a moment to read facebook and Hailey came in "Mom I will call the police and throw you in jail unless you come play with me right now!" I stopped what I was doing at once and went to play with her. She is so funny.
Chad loves a book we got from the library called "Little Boy Soup" about a little boy walking in the woods who knocks on the door of the wicked witch of the woods and she is going to make little boy soup out of him. I really do all the character voices and Chad will do a little witch voice "Ah, ah, ah" you will just have to come over and hear him do it is the cutest ever.
at night he will grab my face and say "wait, wait, wait" because he wants me to listen to him and he doesn't want to go to bed yet. So cute
Lyndsi is acting like the queen of the house but if you get her to sing any of the songs she has been learning at school for her assembly she loves to share and she is always calling us "missus and mister" I love it. I think her teacher must call the kids that at school.
and there you go!
On a side note I am accepted for the Communicative Disorders post bachelor degree online through USU and i'm looking for scholarships so if you know of any let me know. I will start in the summer (if I get some sort of scholarship to pay for it :))
